Idaho Salmon river rafting! A premier
river for whitewater rafting trips, the Salmon is one of the longest undammed
rivers in the United States and runs through one of the deepest canyons in
North America. This is a big-water river with rolling white water rapids that
drop into deep calm pools. During the summer the Main Salmon river is perfect
to experience the pleasures of a long wilderness rafting trip. Each day
encountering exhilarating rapids, camping on luxurious sandy beaches next to
the river, seeing an abundance of wildlife among the pine-studded granite
crags, with the occasional hot springs to make the Salmon river rafting
experience complete.
The Main Salmon is located in southern Idaho. Salmon river rafting boaters start at Corn Creek which is close to the town of Salmon. The run is 82 miles long and takeout is near the town of McCall. There are regular charter flights between Salmon, McCall, and the city of Boise, the closest major airport. Commercially guided Salmon river rafting trips are available through Destination Wilderness. These trips are five or six day trips and are ideal for whitewater enthusiasts, first-timers, families and independent travelers.
